Activity Therapist

County Of Berks is seeking a skilled Activities Assistant to join our team. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by designing and implementing engaging activities that cater to their diverse needs and interests.

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents' needs and preferences to inform activity planning.
• Develop and implement a range of activities, including group and individualized programs, to promote physical and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care planning and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, care planning, and other relevant meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

• Degree in Recreation or Art-related fields and at least one year of experience in social or recreational programs or any equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English and interpret documents.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with residents, families, and staff members.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

The Activities Assistant will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to push wheelchairs, walk/stand for extended periods, and work in a stressful environment. The successful candidate will be well-organized, dependable, flexible, and resourceful, with the ability to handle stress and work well in a team environment.
