Pharmacy Trainee
Thrifty White Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Trainee to gain comprehensive experience in the community pharmacy environment and to practice various pharmacist responsibilities as permitted by state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and encourage repeat visits.
- Assisting in the preparation of paper insurance claims when required.
- Securing and documenting authorization for prescription refills from healthcare providers to ensure all prescriptions are properly approved.
- With adequate experience, providing medication counseling to patients while collaborating with the Pharmacist Preceptor to understand the full scope of a pharmacist's role.
- Facilitating and advocating for immunization services within the store and through local partnerships, including community centers and government entities.
- Addressing customer inquiries in the over-the-counter (OTC) sections and becoming knowledgeable about available products.
- Supporting the completion of Medication Therapy Management tasks, preparing necessary information for pharmacists to conduct thorough medication reviews, and assisting during patient consultations.
- Proactively seeking opportunities to educate at senior centers, workplaces, medical offices, and community events.
- Conducting follow-up calls after three days of antibiotic therapy to assess patient progress and address any questions or concerns.
- Maintaining good attendance and punctuality to meet essential job functions.
