Job Summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Special Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language services to students with varying needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct identification programs, including screening and student assessments, to identify students who require speech and language services.
  • Coordinate student therapy schedules with teaching staff and other related service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Evaluate and interpret speech and language testing results, making recommendations to aid in educational planning for students with service needs.
  • Provide direct and consultative services in individual, small, or large group settings, adapting to the needs of each student.
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service activities and other professional growth opportunities.
  • May serve as case manager for students receiving speech-language services and participate in Student Assistant Teams (SAT) committee meetings.
  • Evaluate speech and language delays and disorders, selecting, administering, and interpreting evaluation materials and results.
  • Analyze and interpret findings for diagnosis and recommendations, reporting results to appropriate personnel, students, and parents.
  • Follow Federal, State, and District guidelines and criteria for eligibility and service delivery.
  • Plan and implement the clinical program, including managing a caseload, developing therapy schedules, and evaluating student progress.
  • Write evaluation reports, progress reports, and maintain records, including Medicaid filing for eligible students.
  • Participate in intra-school planning and communications through attending monthly meetings of District speech-language pathologists.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • New Mexico License in Speech-Language Pathology from the New Mexico Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
  • New Mexico License issued by the PED Ancillary and Support Services.
Work Environment

Work hours are established in the employment contract, with additional hours required as scheduled by the School Principal.
