Cart Attendant

As a valued member of the WinCo Foods team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment. Your primary responsibility will be to gather carts from the parking lot, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Cart Gathering: Utilize manual and remote-controlled cart pushers to collect carts from the parking lot, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional, friendly, and courteous service to internal and external customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere in the store.
- Grounds Maintenance: Regularly pick up litter from the grounds, planters, and cart room, contributing to a tidy and well-maintained store environment.
- Stray Cart Retrieval: Gather stray carts within the store, ensuring they are properly secured and preventing any potential hazards.
- Recycling Assistance: Empty recycle machine containers into designated bins, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Equipment Operation: Safely maneuver and stack bins for pick-up, utilizing manual pallet jacks and other equipment as needed.
- Physical Demands: Ability to walk, push, pull, and maneuver grocery carts up to 100 lbs. occasionally, as well as stand, walk, and move rapidly for extended periods.
- Visual and Auditory Skills: Exhibit mental awareness of surroundings for safety in the parking lot and ability to see carts needing to be gathered.
- Customer Relations: Demonstrate excellent customer relation skills, providing a positive experience for internal and external customers.
- Learning and Adaptability: Willingness to learn safety and department policies & procedures, as well as adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Age and Certification: Must be 16 years of age or older and possess a Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, primarily between the hours of 7:00 am to 11:00 pm in a 24/7 operation. Exposure to various weather conditions, including cold, hot, and inclement weather, is possible.
CompensationCompetitive hourly rate: $16.15-$16.25 USD per hour.
