You will assist in implementing treatment plans, conducting patient exercises, and monitoring progress while collaborating closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement Treatment Plans: Assist in executing therapy interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Conduct Patient Exercises: Guide patients through prescribed exercises and rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor Progress: Observe and record patient responses to treatment, reporting changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Prepare Equipment: Set up and maintain therapy equipment for patient sessions.
- Educate Patients: Instruct patients and families on exercise techniques and care plans.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate patient records and progress notes.
- Support Patient Mobility: Assist patients with mobility and transfers to enhance independence.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Ensure Safety: Monitor patient safety during therapy sessions and maintain a safe environment.
- Participate in Community Outreach: Engage in health promotion and education activities in the community.
- Education: Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
- Licensure: A valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
- Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
