Job Summary:
As a Roll-Off Driver at Waste Connections, you will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely Operate a Garbage Truck: Ensure the safe operation of the garbage truck on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Collect Solid Waste: Collect solid waste from residential and commercial customers, following established procedures and protocols.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the garbage truck, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Operate Hydraulic Hand Controls: Safely operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse, and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Requirements:
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Possess a valid CDL with a clean driving record.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
