Job Summary:

The Custodian (Full-Time/Part-Time) position at KWIK FILL is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our truck stop and adjacent buildings. This role works closely with the Truck Stop Management team to identify and address potential maintenance issues, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stocking and Merchandising: Price, stock, and face merchandise in a timely and efficient manner, including gondolas, shelving, counters, walk-in coolers, upright coolers, and backroom storage areas.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Manage product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to prevent damage or spoilage. This may involve lifting heavy objects (up to 50lbs) to accomplish certain tasks.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain the store in accordance with maintenance policies and Health Department regulations. Daily tasks may include sweeping parking lots, picking up trash, emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms and floors, and replacing ceiling tiles.
  • Safety and Security: Prioritize duties for work, follow all security and safety policies and procedures, and be alert to potential safety issues.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Assist with other operations of the truck plaza as needed, and communicate effectively with the Store Manager and District Manager.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skills: Ability to multi-task, organizational and communication skills, prior custodial/maintenance experience preferred
  • Work Environment: Typical retail convenience store/truck plaza setting, with physical demands including lifting, bending, twisting, standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods, and working on ladders
