Salary: $24.03 (minimum)

Qualifications:
  • Valid EPA Freon License
  • Trade degree in HVAC or State Contractor License, or a minimum of 5 years relevant commercial experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to emergency heating and air conditioning issues.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of new construction projects.
  • Conduct inspections on new construction sites.
  • Perform repairs on various HVAC components including boilers, pumps, valves, chillers, compressors, air handlers, and associated controls.
  • Repair or replace exhaust fans as necessary.
  • Conduct essential electrical checks.
  • Execute welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks on equipment when required.
  • Initiate the procurement of supplies for assigned equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining records of district HVAC equipment.
  • Conduct tests on open and closed loops as needed and collaborate with the current water treatment vendor to ensure optimal HVAC operation.
  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, and replace belts and filters on assigned equipment.
  • Service refrigerators, coolers, freezers, water fountains, and other assigned equipment, ensuring preventative maintenance and emergency service.
  • Complete necessary work tickets detailing hours worked, job costs, and related information.
  • Maintain a Freon log for compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Direct Digital Control Operator for troubleshooting and calibration of DDC systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Report directly to the Coordinator of HVAC within the Maintenance Department.
Work Environment:
  • Maintain composure under stress.
  • Work hours may vary.
  • Frequent interruptions may occur.
  • Preparation of materials may involve lifting and moving equipment and supplies.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors is expected. Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
Continuous Improvement: Strive to meet or exceed operational standards while identifying and implementing efficiencies in job tasks or processes.
