This role is crucial for providing technical proficiency in evaluating aircraft systems, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs to minimize operational disruptions. You will leverage your expertise to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Location:

Compensation:
$32.19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit technical acumen in the operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  • Conduct installations and functional testing of electrical and avionics components in accordance with engineering specifications and maintenance manuals, ensuring a defect-free operation.
  • Guarantee the quality and efficiency of all installations by troubleshooting processes to deliver timely repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  • Demonstrate effective repair techniques, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  • Adhere to engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Set up and operate necessary testing equipment, performing functional and operational tests to assess performance and reliability.
  • Ensure all work on the aircraft is thoroughly documented and prepared for inspection.
  • Maintain and test electronic systems and components, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED, along with:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an avionics or electrical field, or
  • Two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics coupled with two (2) years of relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license.
  • FCC certification.
  • NCATT certification.

Additional Skills:

Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of various aircraft systems beyond avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, and environmental controls is advantageous. Candidates should also be able to:

  • Interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Perform physical tasks including climbing, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
