General Overview

The Sales Associate will play a vital role in receiving, stocking, and pricing all merchandise while ensuring a clean and organized presentation of products and overall store cleanliness.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement:

  • Represent Kortendick Hardware, Inc. positively.
  • Proactively assist customers in resolving issues.
  • Welcome customers as they enter and navigate the store. Thank them upon completion of their visit.
  • Exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor; collaborate effectively with both customers and team members.
  • Ensure all inquiries and calls are addressed promptly and courteously.
  • Direct any unresolved customer complaints to management.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
  • Provide personalized service to customers throughout the store, aiming to impress every customer, every time.
Store Operations

  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and safe working environment.
  • Assist with the receiving, checking, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
  • Help maintain appropriate back stock levels.
  • Support daily upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise area.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized sales floor, including end caps and promotional merchandise.
  • Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
  • Provide support to Department Specialists, including price adjustments and special orders.
  • Ensure that signage remains current throughout the store.
  • Operate a forklift with proper training.
  • Communicate any Store Support Center issues to the General Manager for follow-up.
  • Share any merchandising, cost control, or sales ideas with the General Manager.
  • Participate in store meetings.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.
Education/Training
High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience
Previous retail experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and climbing.
