Position Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Compensation: $31.30-$40.20 Hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize electrical testing instruments such as voltmeters, meggers, and amprobes.
- Install, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot various systems including motor control and lighting systems, motors with starters and brakes, PLCs, burner controls, and instrumentation equipment such as RTDs and thermocouples.
- Oversee the operation of inkjet printers and manage three-phase motor wiring terminations.
- Interpret and analyze instrumentation schematics and symbols.
- Employ HMI screens for troubleshooting and understanding process controls.
- Demonstrate knowledge of AC motor and VFD theory.
- Handle VFD power and control wiring, including installation, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Design, layout, and install conduits and cable trays.
- Perform transformer sizing and wiring, along with understanding fuse, wire sizing, and conduit fill ratios.
- Install various electrical controls, interpret electrical schematics and symbols, identify motor data, and possess a foundational understanding of NEC codes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant manufacturing or commercial experience, or a 2-year Associate's Degree in Industrial Electricity, Process Controls, Robotics, or a related field.
- Availability to work any shift, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Proven track record of safe work practices, consistent attendance, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, work at heights and in confined spaces, accept on-call responsibilities, and possess strong basic math, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must provide a basic set of hand tools.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, megger, ammeter, etc.), as well as conduit bending and wire pulling.
- Successful completion of a basic electrical skills assessment is required.
- Experience in reading electrical schematics and cable drawings to accurately size conduits and conductors, and install electrical systems in compliance with NEC code.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E code and requirements is advantageous.
- Experience with field termination and replacement of motors, transformers, sensors, switches, valves, and process control equipment.
Troubleshooting Expertise:
- 24VDC control systems
- 120VAC motor control
- 480VAC, 3-phase power distribution and motor control
- Experience with process control and ladder logic is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with PLCs.
- Familiarity with VFDs.
- Experience with 4,160V and higher power systems.
Compensation may vary based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
