Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting sleep studies, including advanced and complex procedures, and will work independently to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct sleep studies, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and analyze complex situations to take appropriate actions.
  • Score sleep studies according to guidelines established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and department policies and procedures.
  • Prepare preliminary detailed polysomnographic reports for physician interpretation and complete the process for the final report once physician sign-off is accomplished.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and family members.
Requirements
  • Three years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center.
  • Registered Polysomnographer Technologist (BRPT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorder Specialty (NBRC) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
