We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oral Surgeon to join our team at Wexford Health Sources Inc. as a Part Time Oral Surgeon. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing surgeries on patients who require specialist orofacial procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Treatment Planning: Consult with patients and analyze patient data to determine patient needs and treatment goals.
- Collaboration with Specialists: Collaborate with other specialists, such as restorative dentists and orthodontists, to plan treatments.
- Record Keeping: Record patient care by maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform surgical procedures to extract impacted or damaged teeth, place dental implants, and remove tumors and other abnormal growths of the oral and/or facial regions.
- Medication Prescription: Prescribe medication to improve recovery and control pain after procedures.
- Infection Treatment: Treat infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaw, face, and neck.
- Emergency Treatment: Provide urgent/emergent treatment of orofacial injuries including facial lacerations, intraoral lacerations, and fractured facial bones.
- Long-Term Care Support: Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
- Research: Conduct research on defects, diseases, and disorders affecting the oral and/or facial regions.
- Licensure: Current New Hampshire License to practice as an Oral Surgeon.
- Certification: Current CPR certification.
- Education: Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
- Experience: 5 years clinical oral surgery experience in an institutional healthcare setting preferred. Correctional experience preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, delegation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to function as a team player, coordinating efforts with managers, peers and subordinates.
- Problem-Solving: Must possess critical thinking skills and ability to independently solve problems.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: General math and analytical skills, and planning, administrative and organizational skills essential.
