Job Title: Assembly Technician

Enprotech Industrial Technologies is a leading supplier of repair, rebuilding, and field services for the metal forming and steel industry. We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling products according to customer requirements. This involves assembling and fitting components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints using measuring instruments.
  • Align components for assembly and bolt, screw, dowel, or weld using hand tools and welding equipment.
  • Remove high spots and smooth surfaces using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered hand grinders.
  • Assemble, set up, and operate machines to verify functioning and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Form, bend, and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machines with air, water, and oil.
  • Work as a member of a team in the fabrication process.
  • Verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts using measuring instruments.
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and test free movement and operation of assemblies by hand.
  • Test or assist in testing operation of completed products.
Requirements
  • Solid mechanical skills and ability to use cranes and other heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes.
  • Must be able to interpret customer prints well enough to determine appropriate disassembly sequence for variety of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret variety of assembly prints and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of using a drill press to tap/drill holes per the layout.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use basic shop math.
  • Ability to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Possess the physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment and tools.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 3-5 years of mechanical assembly and disassembly experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment with a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Travel Requirements

5% to 10% travel is required for this position.
