About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our AmeriCorps team as a Public Health Advocate in Yakima, WA. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on public health outcomes while gaining valuable professional experience.

Job Summary

The Public Health Advocate will work closely with community partners to identify and address critical public health needs. This involves conducting outreach and education efforts to engage volunteers and promote preparedness and resilience in vulnerable communities.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and recruit diverse pools of volunteers through outreach and engagement efforts
  • Navigate the onboarding process for new volunteers and provide support as needed
  • Deliver preparedness presentations and hands-only CPR instruction to community members
  • Support individuals impacted by public health emergencies and disasters
Requirements
  • Ability to serve 40+ hours per week for 5.5 months
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • Holds a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
  • Possess a valid driver's license

Estimated Salary Range

Based on industry standards and location, we estimate the salary range for this position to be approximately $23,215 - $25,000 per year, depending on experience.
