Job Summary

Border States Paving, Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt paver machines to spread and level paving material on roads, highways, parking lots, and streets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain asphalt paver machines to ensure efficient working conditions.
  • Perform daily visual and safety inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Start-up and shut-down essential systems to maintain proper operation.
  • Manipulate and adjust hand or foot levers to control movement of paving machine.
  • Communicate with dump man and screed operator to facilitate consistent speed and uniform distribution of asphalt.
  • Perform maintenance checks and minor servicing to minimize risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.
  • Inform the Superintendent and Mechanic crew about repair and maintenance needs for equipment on assigned jobs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and OSHA requirements at all times.
  • Relate to co-workers and the general public in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties when necessary.
Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel throughout North and South Dakota.
  • Must pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to work 60-70 hours a week, Monday through Saturday, during the seasonal period of May to November.
