Job Title: Director, Human Resources

Weldon City Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the collaboration with other district leaders to ensure that the school district recruits, retains, develops, recognizes and rewards a high quality workforce that can manage ongoing change successfully while meeting the diverse needs of students, parents, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute a plan for human resources and organizational development in alignment with the district's strategic plan.
  • Facilitate, supervise, and evaluate activities and performance of human resources staff.
  • Establish and maintain an organizational structure for providing assistance and support to individual schools for effective operation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for recruitment, staffing, employee relations, and employee benefits.
  • Interpret and communicate existing personnel policies and procedures to staff as needed.
  • Direct the various operations of the personnel department.
  • Facilitate meetings and professional development on personnel-related topics and issues for administrative staff.
  • Provide guidance in the allotment planning to schools and departments.
  • Provide oversight of the employment of licensed and non-licensed personnel for all schools and administrative departments.
  • Provide guidance and direction for office support personnel engaged in the daily operational duties of the department.
  • Investigate, analyze, and make decisions regarding personnel problems and issues.
  • Provide guidance to the Board of Education in the reviewing and updating board policies.
  • Serve as a designated mediator for parents and school personnel in problem-solving sessions as assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Provide oversight of the development and management of the Title II Federal Program budget in accordance with federal and state laws and policies.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Dept. in establishing school-based allotments, salary assignments for both licensed and non-licensed personnel.
  • Directly supervise staff in the HR Dept. and the Technology Dept.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in human resources management and development.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in School Administration preferred or Bachelor's Degree required in related areas of human services and personnel Management or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervisory/administrative experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent human relations skills.
