Job Summary

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is seeking a Board Certified Cardiology-Non Invasive Physician to serve at the Tallahassee Outpatient Clinic in Tallahassee, Florida.

Responsibilities
  • See new and returning cardiac patients, document, and code in the Computerized Patient Record System CPRS.
  • Answer phone and E-consult cardiology requests from Tallahassee and associated CBOCs.
  • Supervise MIT and interpret ECG, Stress Test, and transthoracic echocardiograms.
  • Supervise administering echo contrast or bubble contrast during echocardiograms as needed, and interrogate cardiac devices (after appropriate training).
  • Help with remoted ECG, ETT, Holter, and echo reading as needed systemwide.
  • Grow telemedicine visits for Tallahassee Outpatient Clinic as needed.

  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
  • Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
Qualifications
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program Cardiology-Non Invasive leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience
  • Board Certified in Cardiology (Non Invasive) is preferred.
