Role Overview: Pueo Business Solutions is seeking experienced Linux Information Assurance Security Assessors with TS/SCI clearance to contribute to our mission. The primary responsibility of the Linux IA Security Assessor is to design, implement, and manage Linux virtual machines within the Intelligence Community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Linux virtual machines in a controlled lab setting.
  • Develop and oversee Ansible deployment within the lab environment.
  • Engage in infrastructure planning on-premises in VMWare, and potentially in cloud environments, while recommending strategies based on emerging technologies.
  • Take ownership of issues, collaborating with various teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct routine system maintenance and address server-side issues as they arise.
  • Manage the complete system lifecycle, including configuration and playbook deployment in a testing environment.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, while maintaining and updating existing documentation as necessary.
  • Provide mentorship to team members on Linux best practices, offering guidance and support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in a Linux Engineering role or similar within a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Current DoD 8570 Requirement: IAT III Certification or the ability to obtain one within a 6-month grace period.
  • Proficiency in Ansible Automation and Playbook creation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, or Debian.
  • Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Understanding and experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus), management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef), and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong grasp of system security best practices, including the application of STIGs or Security Templates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Ansible Automation, including the development of playbooks and roles for configuration management and application deployment.
  • Relevant certifications in Linux or cloud technologies, such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in automating OS provisioning using Ansible and VMWare.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proactive approach to system issues, with the foresight to prevent them before they arise. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) is a plus.
