MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

• Operate magnetic resonance equipment to obtain diagnostic scans, working closely with radiologists and other staff members to prepare patients and ensure accurate imaging.
• Position patients' body parts for imaging and set technical factors on the equipment to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department, prioritizing workflow and minimizing anxiety.
• Follow OSHA regulations and use universal precautions to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve patient and departmental goals, sharing and initiating regular communication with colleagues.

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited school for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• 2 years of healthcare experience preferred; refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
• ARRT or ARMRIT Registered in MRI, or eligible; registry must be completed within 12 months of hire.
• Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications, ability to work in a stressful environment, and proficiency in MRI safety.

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, as well as attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. May be exposed to radiation.
