Job Summary

Manson Construction Co. is seeking a skilled Heavy Machinery Operator to join our team in support of marine construction projects.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires expertise in operating crawler cranes, pile driving, and other heavy machinery in a marine environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate crawler cranes in support of construction activities, including moving forms, rebar, and other materials.
  • Participate in pile driving operations using impact or vibratory methods.
  • Assist with other essential aspects of the project when crane operations are not required.
  • Perform daily inspections of cranes, rigging, barges, and associated equipment, maintaining inspection logs and performing basic maintenance tasks.
  • Manage inventory of rigging supplies and repair/splice cables and towing ropes as needed.
  • Secure mooring lines to barges or tugs if necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) prior to performing work activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience operating lattice boom crawler cranes.
  • Pile driving experience is mandatory.
  • NCCO license with lattice boom specialization is essential.
  • Friction crane experience is also required.
  • Marine experience is preferred, as is mechanical dredging experience.
  • The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, understand, respond to, and follow instructions and communications.
Qualifications

You will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid Crane Operator certification (e.g., NCCCO) with lattice boom specialization.
  • A valid picture identification.
  • Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility.
Work Environment

This role involves working in a marine environment, requiring you to:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and on marine vessels in water.
  • Safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by different construction work environments.
Salary and Benefits

Manson Construction Co. offers a competitive salary for this position, estimated at $90,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
