About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that significantly impact our customers. As a key member of our team, you will deliver exceptional service excellence and contribute to customer success.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Install, repair, maintain, and qualify LSMS and Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry systems on-site.
  2. Collaborate with Unity Lab Services teams and Sales to provide customer-centric solutions.
  3. Utilize customer management software to track service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks efficiently.
  4. Analyze and review inspection findings to identify problem sources and recommend corrective actions.
  5. -coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other stakeholders to expedite repairs.
  6. Develop and conduct training on safe equipment operation and demonstrate skills to trainees.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years equivalent experience or a high school diploma and relevant education.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong customer relationships are crucial.
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and create clear, concise documentation.
  • Capability to work independently in customer locations and travel up to 70% within the territory or other areas as required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance occasionally and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry systems.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a Service Engineer, particularly with LCMS and GCMS instrumentation, or 3 or more years of relevant industry experience.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
