Job Overview

At OneBlood, we are committed to providing safe and available blood to over 200 hospital partners across Florida, Southern Georgia, North and South Carolina.

We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Clinical Apheresis Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in performing clinical apheresis procedures and ensuring the safe and appropriate care of patients.

Responsibilities
  • Procedure Performance: Perform all phases of therapeutic apheresis procedures and documentation per OneBlood protocol following physician's orders.
  • Patient Care: Ensure safe and appropriate care of patients in accordance with applicable regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Blood Administration: Administer blood and blood products utilizing apheresis equipment and following appropriate protocol.
  • Emergency Situations: Perform apheresis procedures as needed in emergency and on-call situations.
  • Clinical Coordination: Coordinate closely with nurses at various hospitals to arrange therapeutic apheresis treatments in conjunction with other required therapy.
  • Patient Assessment: Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis prior to and during procedures, evaluate patient medication for compatibility and safety, and determine when to contact the physician.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • A current and valid Florida RN license.
  • Current BLS CPR certification.
  • A valid and clear driver's license.
  • The ability to effectively obtain peripheral access, utilize dialysis catheters, fistulas, grafts, or power ports.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical procedures and patient-related documentation.
  • The ability to document on hospital records procedural information and patient tolerance.
  • The ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical-related issues within scope with patients, families, nurses, and physicians.
  • The ability to operate company vehicles in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • The ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • The ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to commute with personal transportation.

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary of $85,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
