Job SummaryThe School Nurse will be responsible for providing health services to students, including conducting health assessments, developing health plans, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure students receive the necessary support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct health assessments and develop health plans for students
- Provide health education and counseling to students, parents, and staff
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure students receive necessary support
- Develop and implement health programs and services
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Approved health services credential as a school nurse
- Two years experience as a school nurse and/or public health nurse
- Valid Registered Nurse License, Current CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and a valid California Driver's License
The School Nurse will work in an indoor environment, with occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens and bodily fluids. The ideal candidate will be able to lift and move students as assigned by the position, and perform CPR maneuvers for an extended period of time.
