Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, energetic, and exemplify the RESPECT Service System of American Queen Voyages. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, ensuring prompt and consistent service at both guest and service bars, and maintaining a hospitable atmosphere for guests and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests and colleagues in line with our RESPECT service system.
  • Precisely follow beverage recipes and possess thorough knowledge of all drink offerings and pricing.
  • Provide timely and consistent bar service to guests and servers throughout the voyage.
  • Set up and dismantle the bar area, ensuring it is stocked and cleaned according to established standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the bar and all communal areas, including washing glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Accurately process guest charges for onboard purchases, managing the point of sale system effectively.
  • Inform guests about beverage and food options, entertainment choices, and points of interest along the cruise route.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of one year of bartending experience is essential.
  • Must possess an energetic and enthusiastic demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with guests and team members.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of beverage recipes is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • A strong service orientation with a proactive approach to assisting others.
  • Physical stamina to work for extended periods without sitting.
  • Capability to lift heavy items, such as liquor boxes and ice bins, and navigate stairs.
  • Responsible for cash handling and maintaining the bar till.
  • Availability to work on major holidays is required.
  • Must meet state age requirements.
