Carpentry Specialist

Taylor Community is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of remodeling and home improvement, including kitchens, baths, flooring, windows, decks, additions, and full-scale renovations across our three campuses.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with residents and receiving valuable training to support the senior population. During weather emergencies, our team pitches in with snow removal and other tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with experience in interpreting construction drawings and blueprints, selecting and working with wood materials, and operating power tools and equipment.

• Interpret construction drawings and blueprints
• Select, measure, cut, shape, and join wood materials for framing
• Repair existing frames
• Apply finishes like drywall, paneling, and trim to frameworks
• Operate power tools, hand tools, and carpentry equipment
• Communicate effectively with contractors and clients
• Construct structures in compliance with building codes and regulations

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience in carpentry
• Ability to work well on a team and be punctual and professional at all times
