Job Overview

Butler Machinery is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Equipment Sales Professional. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for promoting and selling new and used heavy equipment, as well as our rental equipment solutions, to customers across the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Promote and sell heavy equipment and rental equipment solutions to customers.
  • Deliver and demonstrate equipment features and benefits to customers.
  • Inspect and appraise potential equipment trade-ins.
  • Provide world-class customer service and support.
  • Promote Butler's product support offerings, including parts and service.
  • Build customer loyalty by following up on service or parts transactions.
  • Meet with coworkers and management to present and overcome obstacles, learn new skills, and grow professionally.
  • Maintain accurate customer and equipment population information in our systems.
  • Complete and process all documentation and paperwork.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of local producer practices and the construction industry.
  • Previous sales experience and knowledge of heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of CAT and related/competitive product lines.
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic financing with customers.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent self-motivation and personal accountability.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
