About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Khoury College is seeking a highly skilled Research Technician to join our Antimicrobial Discovery Center team. As a key member of our drug discovery and development team, you will be responsible for assisting in the purification of Darobactin analogs, culturing bacteria, and performing bioactivity assays.
Key Responsibilities
Design, execute, and analyze purification protocols for Darobactin analogs.
Conduct bacterial culturing and bioactivity assays to support drug discovery efforts.
Collaborate with senior staff and follow established protocols to ensure efficient lab operations.
Provide general support to the lab, including stocking, inventory, and ordering.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of experience or Master's degree (thesis-based programs only).
At least 2 years of experience in purification chemistry and microbiology.
Preferred skills include fermentations, bacterial separation, resin extraction, and chromatographic purification.
Experience with cell-based assays and molecular cloning is beneficial.
Excellent communication, organization, and reliability skills are essential.
