POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding care to our patients, embodying our Patient Promise: "We are solely and always focused on the patient. The RN administers medical care under the guidance of the Health Center provider, tailoring services to meet the unique needs of each patient who visits our facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts thorough patient evaluations, including vital signs and preliminary examination tasks. Collects and analyzes both objective and subjective patient data.
  • Records assessments and data in the patient documentation system, utilizing technology to ensure accurate coding and record-keeping.
  • Assists healthcare providers with consultations, treatments, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Implements medical protocols and nursing interventions appropriate to the healthcare setting and within their scope of practice.
  • Provides health education and counseling to patients, including discussions with families and caregivers.
  • Manages medication reconciliation, adherence, inventory, and patient education.
  • Operates medical devices and equipment effectively.
  • Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures proper disposal procedures are followed.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, including OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.
  • May involve triaging calls for urgent appointments, coordinating patient referrals, and handling insurance pre-certifications.
  • Utilizes general office skills such as typing, software applications, filing, and managing communications.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service skills while interacting with patients, families, and caregivers.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association for a minimum of 90 days post-hire.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in a clinical nursing environment.
  • Knowledgeable in nursing and medical standards, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Able to interpret and implement the goals, policies, and procedures of Proactive MD.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is primarily based in a medical office setting, requiring regular interaction with patients throughout the workday. The physical requirements include:

  • Effective communication skills, mobility, and the ability to operate office equipment while occasionally traveling within the facility.
  • Ability to remain stationary at the workstation for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20-30 pounds.

POSITION TYPE & WORK HOURS

This role is classified as PRN (as needed) and is non-exempt. Evening and weekend shifts may be necessary based on the operational needs of the health and wellness center.
