Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Simi Valley, California.
Job Summary:As an Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive care and adhere to state and federal regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate speech therapy for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Set patient care priorities and assign tasks to appropriate personnel based on job description skills and capabilities.
- Participate in clinical education by supervising student interns, clinical affiliates, and Clinical Fellowships (CFYs) as needed.
- Provide education opportunities to personnel and the broader community.
- Immediately notify charge nurses, managers, and house supervisors of significant problems or unusual incidents.
- Master's Degree: Required
- Two years' speech language pathology experience: Preferred
- Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
- American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred
