Traveling Patient Observation Assistant

As a Traveling Patient Observation Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in our healthcare facilities. You will be responsible for visually and audibly monitoring patients, completing observation reports, and taking initiative in rendering compassionate service. Your ability to work collaboratively with staff, patients, and visitors will be essential in providing a positive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patients' conditions and behavior at all times, completing observation reports as required.
- Take initiative in rendering compassionate service, interacting hospitably with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Remain at the bedside of assigned patients, unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
- Verbally redirect patients from engaging in at-risk behaviors, seeking help or advice as needed.
- Participate in collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues, ensuring a safe patient environment.
- Assist in calming and/or reorienting patients in cases of agitation or confusion.
- Assist with keeping patients' rooms safe and orderly, accompanying patients during diagnostic testing.
- Immediately summon nursing staff if patients require assistance, control, or other nursing interventions.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods, with occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- One to two years of previous experience preferred.
