Job Title: Mobile Response Team Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join the Hillsborough County Public Schools team as a Mobile Response Team Specialist. The successful candidate will collaborate with school-based student services teams and contracted community-based Mobile Response Teams to provide crisis intervention response and direct mental health services.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and report data related to students to ensure compliance with Senate Bill 590 and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act (MSDHSPSA)
  • Plan, create, and implement professional development for stakeholders
  • Communicate with school staff about student case details as needed
  • Collaborate with site-based Student Services staff to support the use of formal/informal universal screening methods, including suicide screening
  • Document screenings, recommendations, and service delivery
  • Support school-based teams with suicide screenings as needed
  • Serve as a consultant to school-based personnel regarding potential implementation of the Baker Act
  • Refer and coordinate services with contracted providers
  • Serve as a liaison among partners, agencies, and staff
  • Collaborate with School Security to refine procedures and safety/security awareness protocols
  • Participate in Problem Solving Leadership Teams (PSLTs) at alternative educational programs, as needed
  • Train stakeholders in the areas of mental health, crisis response, and evidence-based programs
  • Support site-based Student Services staff with planning and facilitating treatment for targeted students
  • Support the process used by site-based staff for students' return to school following inpatient treatment
  • Monitor compliance and data entry among schools and providers
Requirements:
  • A master's degree or higher in one of the following areas: Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
  • Three years of experience in crisis intervention response and/or providing direct mental health direct services
  • A Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred: Guidance and Counseling, School Psychology, or School Social Work
  • A Florida Department of Health License: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Psychologist (LC), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Working Conditions:

This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations, and/or community organizations throughout the district.
