Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Decision Unit team at VCU Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and documenting patient information.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state licensure.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • 12-24 months of RN experience for Clinical II, 3 years of clinical experience for Clinical III.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic healthcare experience.
  • Experience with similar patient populations in acute care settings.
Work Environment

Our Clinical Decision Unit is a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population. You will be expected to work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays, with individual shift rotation and schedules established with your Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.

Physical Requirements

This role requires prolonged standing, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent bending and reaching. You will be exposed to potentially hazardous and infectious substances and will be required to lift 20-50 pounds.
