Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member, you will oversee tax-related compliance, research, and special projects across various tax areas. Your responsibilities will include supervising staff members, reviewing financial statements, developing complex tax planning projections, and preparing intricate U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assess the work of staff members, focusing on tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up tasks for entities.
  • Review compiled financial statements for corporations, non-profit organizations, partnerships, and individuals, examining workpapers, accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and client records.
  • Develop and evaluate complex tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax obligations.
  • Oversee and monitor client deliverables and deadlines.
  • Prepare or review intricate U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and create memos summarizing findings and conclusions.
  • Handle IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notifications, coordinating with both agencies and clients.
  • Engage in direct communication with current clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives on tax-related matters.
  • Provide guidance on software utilization, processes, and workflows within the department.

Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you will require:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in individual tax compliance and planning (experience with CS Suite and UltraTax is advantageous).
  • Experience in conducting tax research using RIA.
  • Knowledge of gift, estate, and trust tax returns would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with partnership tax is a plus.
  • An outgoing and friendly personality, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A forward-thinking approach, seeking opportunities for improvement, learning, and personal development.
  • The desire and ability to train, mentor, lead, and support staff members.

Estimated Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year, based on location and experience.
