Role Overview

We are seeking an Academic Mentor to join our team in the Residential Program at NewPath Child & Family Solutions.

Job Summary

The Academic Mentor will provide educational instruction and support to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive learning environment, promoting academic achievement, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure seamless integration of behavioral health and education.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, during school hours. We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - 55,000 per year, depending on experience.


Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Support: Provide educational instruction in all assigned subjects, including daily living skills, using innovative hands-on techniques to engage students.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs that cater to each student's unique needs and abilities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with clinical staff to ensure the integration of behavioral health and education, and maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
  • Attendance and Accountability: Maintain a good attendance record and participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision as scheduled.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Current and active teaching license required or substitute license (Intervention Specialist license preferred).
  • Experience: Two years of experience working with high-risk youth, preferably in special education classroom instruction and positive behavior supports.
  • Age and Certification: Be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license with proof of current auto insurance.
