About the Job: The Defense Health Agency is seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist in Occupational Health to join our team. This role requires a strong background in occupational medicine and the ability to provide medical care and services to employees. As a Medical Specialist in Occupational Health, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies to prevent injuries and illnesses, conducting workplace visits to identify potential hazards, and reviewing and providing input on documents related to occupational health programs and committees.

About the Position: The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees. You will be required to provide technical assistance, advice, and support to surety medical support sites in the DHA, advise on medical programs and policies required to support activities performing chemical weapons demilitarization, biologic agent defense research, and nuclear reactor operations, and serve on a special response team for CBRNE incident/accident and consequence management.

Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must have a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a recognized institution and at least 4 years of residency training in the specialty of occupational medicine or equivalent experience and training in the specialty of occupational medicine. Your resume must describe your relevant experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

About the Salary: The salary range for this position is $121,020 - $300,000 per year, with negotiation possible for recruitment and relocation bonuses. A recruitment bonus may be authorized, and medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.
