Job Overview
The initial compensation for this role starts at $15.75/hour, determined by the qualifications and relevant experience exceeding the minimum standards. This position entails approximately 20 hours of work per week.
Position Responsibilities
The Security Patrol Officer at The Biltmore Company is tasked with maintaining the safety and security of visitors, staff, assets, and property. This role is integral to delivering a premier guest service experience. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing assistance in a courteous and professional manner.
- Delivering security and emergency response services at designated locations.
- Supporting staff, guests, and vendors.
- Managing access control for secured sites and assets.
- Offering general assistance to leadership and the department as necessary.

Qualifications
1. A high school diploma is required; relevant training or certifications are advantageous. Candidates must obtain AED, CPR, and First Aid certification.
2. A minimum of one year of experience in guest services, safety, security, or a related field is preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience in attractions, hospitality, or upscale hotel/resort environments with a focus on guest service.
3. A strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document reports in standard English. Knowledge of a second language is beneficial.
5. Strong judgment and situational evaluation skills are essential.
6. Proactive approach with the ability to troubleshoot and manage various guest and employee situations professionally.
7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
8. Must quickly learn The Biltmore Company's systems and protocols.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt as necessary.
10. Attention to detail is crucial.
Physical Requirements
This position requires a physical examination prior to employment. Key physical demands include:
- Working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Standing or walking for extended periods.
- Assisting guests and employees physically as needed.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Maintaining normal sensory acuity and managing multiple stimuli.
- Possessing a valid driver's license with a clean record and being at least 18 years old.
- Ability to focus on computer screens for extended periods.
Essential Duties
1. Familiarity with The Biltmore Company and grounds, including access control procedures and emergency protocols.
2. Accurate documentation of events impacting security and safety, including report writing.
3. Conducting patrols of assigned areas as required.
4. Responding appropriately to various threats, including severe weather and fire hazards.
5. Providing exceptional service to guests, staff, and vendors.
6. Assisting estate residents as necessary.
