Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating health care services with the Miami-Dade County Department of Public Health and other providers. This includes making provisions for the appropriate health care needs of students, infants, and toddlers. The School Nurse will work under the supervision and direction of the school principal.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as a liaison with health providers to ensure high-quality health care services.
- Arrange for the Health Department to provide on-site clinical services.
- Participate in case conference meetings.
- Assist physicians in providing medical care to students.
- Order and maintain inventory of supplies for the clinic.
- Prepare clinical charts and give medication as prescribed by physicians.
- Apply nursing principles and techniques in the care and treatment of patients.
- Perform related work as required or assigned.
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the requirements of a registered nurse. Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with F.S. 464 or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8 is required. Certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in accordance with Florida Statute 464 is also acceptable.
