Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Fraud Prevention Analyst. This entry-level position is essential in safeguarding the bank against potential fraudulent activities, both internal and external. The primary responsibility of this role is to identify, prevent, and adhere to established protocols to minimize losses for both the bank and its clientele. The analyst will engage in proactive measures to thwart fraud by analyzing patterns and trends, monitoring account activities, and collaborating with various departments to address and mitigate fraud risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate customer account transactions to identify potential fraudulent activities across various channels (e.g., Checks, Wires).
  • Review and process alerts on Yellowhammer, conducting thorough research and resolution of alerts daily.
  • Manage and analyze Ensenta (ATM deposits) alerts.
  • Make prompt and informed decisions to protect customer interests and the bank's assets.
  • Implement security measures on accounts to prevent financial losses.
  • Apply Reg CC holds on deposits in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to verify the legitimacy of charges.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication to resolve fraud incidents and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Engage professionally with customers, colleagues, and branch personnel.
  • Refer complex alerts to the Fraud Investigator or Team Lead for further analysis.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of banking policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a financial institution.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Familiarity with identifying fraudulent items and conducting detailed account analyses.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to work independently.
  • Robust problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is advantageous.
