Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician I to join our team at Atlantic Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Technician I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient history, including medical and vision-related information
  • Follow office workup protocols to ensure accurate and efficient patient care
  • Determine visual acuity and perform automated refraction to assess patients' vision
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered by a physician
  • Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including data entry and patient services
  • Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry) and prepare patients for procedures
  • Maintain equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in eye care required
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as needed
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs and perform essential functions of the position
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion, close visual acuity, and ability to be stationary for prolonged periods required.
