Position Overview

The Event Service Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that food and beverage items are delivered and served to guests during banquet events with exceptional service. This position is integral to the hotel's commitment to providing outstanding guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming demeanor throughout the event.
  • Deliver food service in line with hotel and banquet standards.
  • Set up action stations and assist in cooking and serving according to the head chef's guidelines.
  • Prepare banquet buffet displays, ensuring timely setup of both hot and cold items.
  • Monitor food levels at buffet displays to ensure availability.
  • Engage with guests to identify any food allergies, preferences, or dietary restrictions, and communicate these to the appropriate banquet leaders.
  • Demonstrate proper coffee and tea brewing techniques.
  • Understand seating arrangements for plated events and execute proper serving techniques.
  • Complete daily side duties, including post-event cleanup and organization of work areas.
  • Attend all required pre-shift and post-shift meetings with banquet management.
  • Ensure all equipment is stored properly and maintained in a clean state.
  • Foster strong relationships with colleagues and promote a respectful work environment.
  • Support team efforts and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to assist hotel operations.
  • Deliver enthusiastic and attentive service to guests, recognizing individual needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Consistently apply the GUEST service model:
    • Greet every guest warmly.
    • Use eye contact and address guests by name.
    • Establish and anticipate guest needs.
    • Solve and take ownership of all requests and concerns.
    • Thank every guest for their visit.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong communication skills for effective training and guest interaction.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Availability for various shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Understanding of basic room layouts and seating arrangements.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and effectively communicate in small group settings.
  • Valid food handling certifications as required.
Experience

A minimum of one year of experience in food service, preferably in a banquet setting, is required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and communicate effectively. Employees may need to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
