Program Leader for Youth

Under the guidance of the Y-Kids Coordinator, the Program Leader is responsible for delivering high-quality program activities for children aged 12 weeks to 12 years old. The goal is to create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where children can learn, grow, and feel comfortable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily activities for participants
  • Maintain a safe and clean site
  • Establish positive relationships with program participants, families, and branch members
  • Model YMCA standards and expectations, with emphasis on Character Counts philosophy
Requirements:
  • Minimum 16 years old
  • Available to work mornings, afternoons, and/or weekends
  • Experience working with youth
  • Ability to work independently
  • Creativity, good judgment, and adaptability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must complete all trainings and certifications within 30 days of hire
  • Fingerprint background check clearance and authorized work permit if under 18
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 18 years or older
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages
