About the Opportunity

Brunswick County is seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist III to provide professional nutritional services to clients and patients for various programs, including Medical Nutrition Therapy, lactation counseling, Diabetes Self-Management Education, and Women, Infants, and Children services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement individualized care plans to meet therapy or counseling goals
  • Conduct follow-up care and document nutritional services in the electronic medical record
  • Develop plans for service delivery and administer the nutrition components of the DSME program
  • Determine eligibility for WIC services using anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary, and eco-social patient data
  • Perform nutrition education and dietary counseling based on assessment
  • Develop a plan of care, provide follow-up assessments and counseling, and prescribe/updates WIC food packages
  • Coordinate care of patients with appropriate providers and perform outreach to area healthcare providers to grow referrals for services
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Nutrition
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education-approved Didactic Program in Dietetics and two years nutrition experience
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education
