We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team for varied store locations. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performing a range of tasks to support the smooth operation of our pharmacies.

Job SummaryTo be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. You will also need to be able to perform light lifting and repetitious physical activity, as well as stand for long periods of time.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED certificate, as well as completion of a pharmacy technician training course or at least 1 year of on-the-job training. National certification is preferred but not required, and state licensing is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
  • Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
  • Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
  • Helps maintain an orderly and clean environment, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
  • Enters data in computer system, recording all prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
  • Removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal, under direction of pharmacist.
  • Performs general clerical duties for the department.
  • Processes all returns and credits, as well as matching invoices to Wholesaler statements.
  • Contacting doctors for refills, Medicare, Narcotic hard copies, and P/As.
