Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Intern in the Progressive Care Unit. As a Nurse Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced nursing staff and gain valuable experience in patient care.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist with patient care by providing or assisting with activities including but not limited to personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, providing fluids, mobility, and comfort.
  • Document care provided in the electronic health record as appropriate.
  • Comply with NMHS policies/procedures and state/federal regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in one of the final two (2) semesters of a nursing program leading to a degree in nursing.
  • Must maintain good standing in the school of nursing where enrolled.
  • Must be able to use equipment essential for patient care and follow hospital guidelines for non-critical equipment cleaning.
  • Maintains knowledge and resources necessary to provide age appropriate care.
  • Must be able to perform point of care testing for glucose and occult blood.
