H.B. Fuller is seeking a highly skilled Lab Technician to join our team in Simpsonville, SC. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced experimental methodologies, contributing to the development of new products or technologies, and mentoring junior and mid-level technicians.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement advanced experimental methodologies to support product development and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale application tests to evaluate experimental samples, solve application process problems, and make recommendations to customers for products and/or process improvements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners on research initiatives, providing training to technical, application, marketing, and sales personnel on specific product attributes and application techniques.
- Develop and execute project plans, documenting project updates and test results, and providing recommendations for product improvement.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- 4 years of industrial laboratory/application experience, with a strong understanding of the polymer industry, including manufacturing processes, equipment, substrates, and surface preparation methods.
- Knowledge of H.B. Fuller products, including adhesives, polymers, primers, and other related materials.
- Proven ability to evaluate and optimize customer processes, with a strong understanding of water-based formulation and production methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of polymer test methods and equipment, with the ability to work independently in lab and plant situations.
- May be required to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to handle full 5-gallon pails (approximately 50 pounds).
- Employee will work with hazardous chemicals and be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work environment may be a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
