As a key member of our optical department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts, and working closely with patients to ensure their vision needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from prescriptions written by optometrists.
  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens coatings that meet their needs and preferences.
  • Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Continuously educate yourself on current brand knowledge and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Accurately collect measurements, including bridge, eye size, temple length, and seg heights.
  • Check in incoming orders to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames.
  • Identify and resolve patient complaints through troubleshooting.
  • Assist other areas of the practice as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to multiple work locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to work weekends when applicable.
  • Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
  • Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change.
  • Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
