Job SummaryHogan Preparatory Academy seeks a highly skilled and compassionate Trauma Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our student services department, you will play a vital role in supporting students and families experiencing high needs, promoting a positive school climate, and advocating for student success.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a trauma-informed, restorative school culture by implementing evidence-based practices to improve student social and emotional wellness.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement strategies that support student development, using a personalized approach.
- Analyze data reports to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, informing data-driven decision-making.
- Evaluate policies and systems for clinical compatibility and effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Provide trauma-informed, restorative solutions for interventions, crisis response, conflict resolution, and social-emotional support for students and families.
- Establish partnerships with community services and organizations to address student needs.
- Refer families to services as needed, monitoring the impact and effectiveness of services.
- Conduct home visits, communication, and other strategies to establish positive relationships with families and students, connecting them to resources and promoting family engagement.
- Coach families and school personnel on developing student success plans, outlining specific, measurable, and attainable goals promoting student advocacy, self-awareness, and achievement.
- Organize and maintain accurate, complete, and confidential case management records, including student progress notes, contact logs, referrals, and follow-up documents.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field.
- Missouri professional license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Three years of direct experience working with socio-economically challenged youth in a culturally and ethnically diverse urban setting.
- Three years of experience with case management.
- Three years of experience in individual and small group clinical intervention.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment, as well as trauma-sensitive service provision.
- Previous experience working with school systems and local, state, or federal agencies.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work flexible hours, and current driver's license with eligibility for insurance through Hogan insurance provider.
- Strong familiarity with education and child welfare policies and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, families, and other educational partners.
- Initiative to identify challenges and design solutions.
- Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and exceptional people skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, and administrators.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Director policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk to hear. The employee is frequently required to bend at the neck more than the average person. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. The employee needs to be able to tell where a sound is coming from and hear in a noisy environment. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or move up to 90 pounds, such as to move students and equipment on wheels.
