Job Title: Overhead Transmission Apprentice Lineperson

This position plays a crucial role in assisting with the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead transmission lines, adhering to approved standards under the guidance of experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new situations, as well as a commitment to ensuring the highest level of safety and quality in their work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation, connection, and rigging of transmission lines in a high-voltage environment.
  • Erect, frame, and replace poles, ensuring proper and safe operation of aerial trucks, digger derricks, and associated equipment.
  • Contribute to the construction of transmission and substation facilities, working on various structure types of transmission lines at voltages from 69 kV to 500 kV.
  • Establish and maintain OSHA and company/customer safety requirements, promoting a culture of safety and risk management.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to climb wood poles, steel poles, and lattice steel towers without assistance.
  • Ability to work at heights up to and above 100 feet.
  • Able to drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with digger derricks and bucket trucks is highly desirable.
Travel and Work Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home, as required.

  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, Walking, Sense of Touch, Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Seeing, Reaching, Range of Motion, Hearing-Speech Range, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting Over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Balancing, Lifting Up to 10 lbs., and Lifting Up to 50 lbs.
