**Position Overview**
We are excited to present an opportunity within the Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who excels in delivering specialized nursing care to become a vital part of our dynamic Head and Neck Oncology team.

**Key Responsibilities**
As a Registered Nurse, your duties will include managing oncologic patient care under the supervision of surgeons, providing direct patient care during clinic visits, assisting with clinical procedures, and anticipating the needs of both patients and providers while collaborating with team members.

**Qualifications**
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required, along with a preference for one (1) year of clinical nursing experience.
- Specialty areas may necessitate additional experience as dictated by clinic standards.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an accredited course is mandatory.

**Job Duties**
  • Deliver nursing interventions aligned with the established medical plan of care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, implement, and document patient responses.
  • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures through an online system or by phone, reinforcing physician instructions both in person and via telephone.
  • Provide patient education and document responses in the medical record.
  • Ensure that appropriate patient consents and authorizations are obtained for research and medical treatment.
  • Triage patient inquiries according to established protocols and document actions in medical records.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed vocational nurses, non-licensed medical staff, or office support personnel.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
  • Participate in recommending policy and procedural changes based on nursing expertise.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
  • Conduct visual and physical inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure patient safety and proper functioning.
  • Attend and engage in meetings related to clinical activities.
  • Responsibilities may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Direct patient interaction; b) Caring for human-subjects research participants; c) Regularly managing patient records; or d) Maintaining human-subjects research records.
**Additional Responsibilities:** Perform other duties as assigned.
